of Eurovision

After many years of zero interest, I watched Eurovision song contest again. Splendid show, and a beautiful winning song.

I find it funny that a song like this would be written by Swedes. I understand that for decades when feminism was more important than sense and clarity, Swedish mothers shunned attachment theory and resulting adults consider “need you” or “adore you” to be straight out of codependency arsenal. A very hard place to be if certain areas in your brain did not get refilled with market thinking instead (yes, what Sweden’s Eric Saade said: “I’ll be back, not to Eurovision, but to international market” - WTH, do all Swedish dudes say shit when things end without them triumphing?) So until times change fully back and attachment is appreciated, the song gets sung by Azerbaijanis.

“Running Scared” filled me with warmth. But beware, if you feel that scared feeling of fragility they are singing of after 3 months of an ongoing relationship, I’d say there is something very wrong. Check if it is not a one-sided appreciation.
